Anhui Polyrocks Hydro-friend Technology Company Limited was established in June 2024 and is located in the High-tech Zone of Anqing City, Anhui Province. It was jointly founded by Guangdong Polyrocks Chemical Co., Ltd. and Hefei University of Technology. The company focuses on the research, development, production and sales of poly electrolyte materials such as anion exchange membranes (AEM) and catalytic layer binders, and is committed to providing key material solutions for the global electrochemical energy conversion field.
Advantage of core technology
Anion exchange membranes (AEMs) are core materials for electrolysis, fuel cells, CO₂ reduction, and flow batteries. The company has full-chain capabilities from monomer/polymer synthesis to membrane fabrication, and was among the earliest in China to achieve large-scale synthesis of high-performance anion polyelectrolytes and roll-to-roll production of wide AEMs. Current annual capacity is ~100,000 m², with max width of 1.2 m (largest in China), marking stable industrial mass production.
Product performance and market acceptance
The AEMemr® series anion exchange membranes and anion polyelectrolyte catalyst layer binders independently developed by the company have achieved comprehensive performance that ranks among the leading levels in China and advanced internationally. They have received high recognition from industry leaders both at home and abroad, and the customers include many universities, research institutions, and numerous well-known enterprises both domestically and internationally.
Intellectual property rights and honor qualifications
As of April 2026, the company holds the trademarks AEMemr® and PEMemr®, and has been granted 8 authorized invention patents (including 1 U.S. patent). It won the bid for Anhui Province's 2025 "Challenge-Driven Innovation" manufacturing project and received the "2025 Green Hydrogen Technology Breakthrough Award" and the "2025 Annual Market Power Award".
Take the lead in formulating industry standards for AEM
Deeply participated in the formulation of one of the first batch of AEM industry standards in China - 《Technical Requirements for Anion Exchange Membrane Materials for AEM Electrolyzers》.
