Fuel Cell Applications

The high-strength AEMemr®-PAW-1-40 can be used in anion-exchange membrane fuel cells without significantly compromising its electrochemical performance even at a thickness of 40 micrometers. It is compatible with a variety of anode and cathode catalysts; when used with a Pt/C catalyst, it exhibits a current density of 1.7 A/cm² at 0.65 V. The cell’s peak power density is 1.3 W/cm², and the membrane electrode assembly exhibits a low sheet resistance (0.067 ohm cm²).
